Target Margin Theater to Stage UNSEEN O'NEILL Lab with Rarely-Seen Works

As part of its 25th Anniversary Celebration, Target Margin Theater presents the Unseen O'Neill Lab. Lead artists Ann Marie Dorr, Kathleen Kennedy Tobin and Eva von Schweinitz revive some of O'Neill's known but rarely-seen works including Beyond the Horizon, Dynamo, and The Great God Brown.

It is announced today that the Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Sophie Okonedo will join Damian Lewis in a new production of Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?  Directed by Ian Rickson, the production will play a strictly limited 12 week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 24th March to 24th June 2017.

Katonah Museum of Art to Honor Theatre, Opera & Film Director Julie Taymor

Award-winning director, playwright, and costume designer Julie Taymor will receive the Himmel Award (2016) in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the worlds of theatre, film, and opera. The Himmel Award and Lecture will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2016, 5 PM. The event will start with conversation between the Museum's Executive Director, Darsie Alexander and Julie Taymor. An optional VIP wine reception with the awardee will follow.

Ian Rickson will direct Damian Lewis in a new production of Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? which will open at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 24th March 2017 with an official opening night on 5th April 2017.

Katie Rosie Clarke (as Ellen) and Nicholas Christopher (as John) are the latest additions to the the cast of Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON, which begins performances Wednesday, March 1 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). Directed by Laurence Connor (LES MISERABLES, School of Rock), the Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature its American stars, Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and 20-year-old Eva Noblezada as Kim, who created their roles in the West End to great acclaim. Rachelle Ann Goand Devin Ilaw have also recently joined the cast, as Gigi and Thuy. The lead male role of Chris will be announced later this month. Opening night for MISS SAIGON will be Thursday, March 23. MISS SAIGON will play a limited engagement throughJanuary 14, 2018 before launching a North American tour later in the year.

Following their one-off theatrical re-staging of Ken Loach's seminal work Cathy Come Home at the Barbican in July of this year, the award-winning theatre company Cardboard Citizens has announced a brand new touring production for October, Cathy, based around similar themes. This year marks the marks the both 50th anniversary of Loach's film and the 25th anniversary of the theatre company who work making theatre with and for homeless people.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announced the full company for its new production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Award-winning Michael Rudman directs David Horovitch as Joe Keller and Penny Downie as Kate Keller with Alex Waldmann (Chris Keller), Grace Carter (Lydia Lubey), Edward Harrison (George Deever), William Meredith (Frank Lubey), Alison Pargeter (Sue Bayliss), David Partridge (Jim Bayliss) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ann Deever). The production opens on 2 November, with previews from 28 October, and runs until 19 November.

The Public's TROILUS AND CRESSIDA Opens Tonight at Shakespeare in the Park

The Public Theater recently announced that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, had stepped into the company of Troilus and Cressida as Achilles, replacing David Harbour, who suffered an injury during previews and will be unable to complete the run. The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.

Kicking off its 30th Anniversary Season, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will present William Shakespeare's The Tempest as the 2016 Free For All event. Directed by STC favorite and internationally-acclaimed director, Ethan McSweeny, The Tempest will feature STC Affiliated Artist and Broadway veteran Patrick Page as Prospero. STC will also welcome back Sara Topham as Ariel, last seen as Hippolyta/Titania in McSweeny's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Affiliated Artist Edward Gero as Alonso, King Of Naples.

Fisayo Akinade, Sharon D Clarke and Alex Hassell have been cast in Caryl Churchill's new 10-minute play PIGS AND DOGS. Rehearsals start on Monday 11 July 2016. Pigs and Dogs runs from Wednesday 20 July 2016 to Saturday 30 July 2016 in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs. Press night is on Friday 22 July 2016, 6.30pm.

Mirirai Sithole Awarded Classic Stage Company's Rosemarie Tichler Fund Grant

Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors.
