Although it has been 35 years since 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' was recorded, Art Garfunkel's image and signature vocal remain among the most instantly recognizable in popular music. His 'beautiful countertenor,' as Neil Strauss described Art's voice in The New York Times, is clear and resonant, surely one of the finest instruments in all of popular music, and a time-honored friend to a world of listeners. Art collaborated with childhood friend Paul Simon, and they started performing as Simon & Garfunkel at the height of the folk music boom in late-1963. Within a year they were signed to Columbia Records, who paired them with producer/engineer Roy Halee. Simon & Garfunkel maintained a tireless pace in the recording studio and on the road, reaching a wide and loyal international audience.

Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. The show has been extended before opening night, as it will now play through March 1. Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls and renowned actor Brian Dennehy bring their artistic partnership to new heights with Eugene O'Neill's haunting drama, Desire Under the Elms-marking their fifth collaboration on O'Neill's work over two decades. Falls' cast includes stage and screen stars Carla Gugino (Entourage, Spy Kids, Sin City) Pablo Schreiber (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Awake and Sing!), Boris McGiver (The Wire) and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac). Earl D. Weiner Elected New Chairman of Theatre Development Fund

The Board of Trustees of Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the country's largest not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, founded in 1968, has announced the election of Earl D. Weiner to the position of chairman of the Board of Trustees. The announcement was made by TDF's current chairman, David D. Holbrook, who just completed a second tenure as chairman which began in November 2005. Mr. Holbrook's first tenure as chairman was from November 1990 - November 1997.
