Court Theatre kicks off its 2012-13 season with August Wilson's Jitney directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson.Jitney is the fourth play in Wilson's Century Cycle to be produced at Court Theatre under Parson's direction. The production will runSeptember 6 - October 14, 2012 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. The press opening will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m.
"Vicki Lawrence & Mama: A Two-Woman Show" at the Spencer Theater on Saturday, August 18 at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. is a multi-media stand-up comedy production that's basically two shows in one. The first half features hilarious sitcom and variety show clips and Lawrence's many behind-the-scenes tales followed by the support-hose-wearing, sassy senior citizen "Mama" in the second half.
Former Saturday Night Live writer (and three-time Emmy nominee) Paul Barrosse and his actress wife, Victoria Zielinski, star in The Vic & Paul Show, an original two-person comedy revue with music that plays tonight, July 12 through July 14th at Playhouse Square's The 14th Street Theatre.
Electric guitarist Eric Johnson will kick off his first ever solo UK tour at the Holmfirth Picturedrome tomorrow night (Friday 6th July). Originally a 5-date tour, Johnson added a second London date at the Leicester Square Theatre, due to phenomenal public demand. This tour will showcase material from his current album "Up Close", and from his rich back catalogue.

This fall The Public Theater will unveil its revitalized downtown home as the Company celebrates a milestone year that also includes the 50th anniversary of the Delacorte Theater, home to Shakespeare in the Park. The revitalization will transform the lobby into a piazza where audiences, artists, and the public will engage with one another. A central element of the project is the addition of The Library at The Public Theater, a new lounge serving food and drinks on the lobby's expanded mezzanine level. The Library at The Public Theater is named in honor of the landmark building's original use as the Astor Library, New York City's first public library.

Broadway 4D Theaters, LLC today announced it has entered into a long term lease for the Times Square Theater with The New 42nd Street, Inc., the nonprofit cultural organization responsible for the reinvention of seven of the block's historic theaters including the Times Square Theater, located at 217 West 42nd Street. Plans are underway for a full and classic restoration to return the theater to its historic glory, bringing the last of the original historic Broadway theaters located on 42nd Street back to life. The developers are creating Broadway Sensation - A 4D Musical Spectacular, which includes a 3D film enhanced show with in-theater special effects, to celebrate the Broadway Musical with the latest theater and 4D film technology. The theater is currently scheduled to open in the late spring or early summer of 2013.
