Theatre fans need not travel all the way to New York City to get a taste of Broadway. Though the Big Apple boasts perhaps the freshest productions and greatest talents in the world, many of the most successful shows on Broadway will eventually hit the road- bringing and equally magical (though sometimes slightly updated) version of their production to cities across the country.

The San Francisco Tribal & Textile Art Show, is one of the most important tribal art fairs in the world. GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that it will honor award-winning actress, producer, and activist Judith Light with the Excellence in Media Award at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. GLAAD also announced that Lilly Singh, openly bisexual executive producer and host of NBC's a?oeA Little Late with Lilly Singh,a?? will serve as host of the Awards, which will take place at the Hilton Midtown in New York on Thursday, March 19. GLAAD previously announced that Ryan Murphy will receive the Vito Russo Award at the New York ceremony.

AMC Networks announced today from the Television Critics' Association (TCA) Press Tour spring premiere dates for several new and returning original series, including the highly anticipated debuts of AMC's The Walking Dead: World Beyond and three-part series Quiz, a third season of BBC AMERICA's award-winning Killing Eve, the fourth and final season of IFC's acclaimed series Brockmire and the return of SundanceTV's psychological thriller Liar. As previously announced, AMC's Better Call Saul season five debuts with a special two-night premiere event on Sunday, February 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9c and Monday, February 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET/8c and the new anthology series Dispatches From Elsewhere premieres Sunday, March 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9c. In addition, the next series in BBC AMERICA's Emmy® Award-winning Planet franchise, Seven Worlds, One Planet will air as a multi-network event across BBC AMERICA, AMC, IFC and SundanceTV this Saturday, January 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/8c.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, recipient of the 2019 Tony Award for Regional Theatre, has announced the appointment of Tim Bond as its new Artistic Director. Bond will join the company officially in March 2020, stepping in as Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley winds down his 50th and final season at the helm of the theatre he created, ending one of the longest tenures in American theatre. Kelley previously announced his retirement at the conclusion of the company's current season in June 2020. John Berry, a Grammy winning singer/songwriter, who was diagnosed with throat cancer after wrapping his 2018 Christmas tour, has announced his 23rd Annual Christmas Songs and Stories Tour for the 2019 holiday season. After 35 treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation, John has been back on the road and entertaining fans since May. This Christmas season promises to be a reason for celebration as he reflects on his ongoing recovery and the joy of the Christmas spirit. The seasonal fan favorite performances are filled with traditional Christmas songs, including his incredible version of 'O Holy Night,” many of his most requested hit songs, and a few of his childhood stories sprinkled in.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2019, which opens on June 8 and continues for two weeks through June 22 in New Haven, Connecticut.

“Queen Sugar,” the critically acclaimed drama series from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay (“A Wrinkle in Time,” “13th,” “Selma”), executive producer Oprah Winfrey and Warner Horizon Scripted Television, returns for its fourth season on OWN Wednesday, June 12 (9 p.m. ET/PT). Continuing a creative initiative established in the show's first season, series creator/executive producer DuVernay has once again assembled an all-female directing team for the fourth consecutive season. Season 4 directors include Cheryl Dunye, who will also serve as producing director, in addition to Carmen Marrón, Numa Perrier, Heidi Saman, Bola Ogun and Tchaiko Omawale, all of whom will be making their television directorial debut, with additional names to be announced.
