The Stecher and Horowitz Foundation has announced 18-year old Jun Hwi Cho of Seoul, South Korea as the Joyce B. Cowin First Prize Winner of the Seventh New York International Piano Competition. In addition to a $10,000 cash prize, the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation will also present Mr. Cho in distinguished venues throughout the United States, beginning in the 2014-15 season. (more...)

Beginning 8 July 2014, Dominique Levy gallery will present a collaborative artists' project inspired by the work of Italian ConceptualistGiulio Paolini. Titled 'Hypothesis for an Exhibition' and curated by Begum Yasar, the project is comprised of two components: The first is an exhibition of work by Paolini and a dozen New York artists and collectives paying tribute to his ideas. The second component is a publication designed by Studio Manuel Raeder. In addition to Paolini, participating artists include Richard Aldrich, Harold Ancart, Sebastian Black, Kerstin Bratsch, GuytonWalker, KAYA, Charles Mayton, Seth Price, Josh Smith, R.H. Seize the Stage: A Musical Revue Benefit for Epilepsy is back for its fifth year, raising funds for Camp Blackhawk. Camp Blackhawk, a program of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago, is an overnight camp for children with mild to severe epilepsy designed so they can experience activities, sports and friendships while in a safe and medically monitored setting. Over the past Four years, the Seize the Stage concerts have raised more than $10,000 to help send children to Camp Blackhawk. Produced by Sammi Gassel, Kenzie Parry and Scott Spector, Seize the Stage features performers from the Chicago area. (more...)
