The Old Globe's GLOBE FOR ALL returns to bring free professional Shakespeare directly to diverse, multigenerational audiences in underserved communities around San Diego County. This second year of GLOBE FOR ALL follows a highly successful inaugural production in 2014. One of the Bard's most charming comedies, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, is directed by renowned Shakespearean Rob Melrose, Artistic Director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, who makes his Globe debut. He directs a cast of local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program. Just last night, the York Theatre Company honored Broadway and Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury with the 2015 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre. The show's run begins Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 and runs through Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2016 with an opening night on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP. Roundabout Theatre Company have announced that Corcoran High School in Syracuse, NY will present the regional premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play will have its world premiere in 22 high school productions across the country through May 2016. Corcoran will present the play on November 13th and 14th at 7:00 PM in their auditorium at 919 Glenwood Ave, Syracuse, NY 13207. The Corcoran production will be helmed by teacher and director, Greg J. BWW Review: THE FROGS Leaps Into a Classic Battle to Prove Who is Best in His Art

Rivers and Sanders make a great team, bouncing bawdy one-liners off each other with fluid ease throughout the first act. There is lots of slapstick humor, ranging from the famous "walk this way" physical gag to several modern references that kept the audience entertained and laughing. There are moments of true hilarity in the production, especially the tango seduction dance performed by Sanders and Markus Cummings. That scene alone is worth the price of admission! (more...)
