Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will close its 2012 season with two shows being added to the series: a second show by the legendary Elaine Paige on February 12th and a second show by Broadway star Laura Benanti on February 11th. Paige has a previously announced show on February 10th at 8:30pm. Paige's new show is on Sunday, February 12th at 6:30pm. Benanti's previously announced show is at 8:30pm on February 11th. Call me envious, but the genre of plays that feature smart, educated, financially well-off characters screwing up their lives under the knowing smirks of the maid serves as a kind of comfort food for me.  And while the discomfort in class, racial and gender issues experienced by the LeVay family in Lydia R. Diamond's funny and quite heated family drama, Stick Fly, may seem a bit too familiar at times, director Kenny Leon and his terrific ensemble help deliver a lively evening. (more...)

NYC & Company, New York City's marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced the return of Broadway Week, Off-Broadway Week, Get More NYC and NYC Restaurant Week in January and February 2012. Promotions include hotel offers, two-for-one tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and three-course meals at some of the City's top restaurants, with more participating shows and restaurants than ever before. During the first quarter of 2011 New York City welcomed an estimated 11 million visitors. The marketing initiatives aim to increase travel to New York City in January and February during the City's typically slower travel periods and to provide value for both visitors and New Yorkers.
