Some of the greatest rock anthems of the 70's, 80's and 90's take center stage in the new rock cabaret musical POWER BALLADZ, debuting Off-Broadway at the Midtown Theatre (163 W. 46 St.) in Manhattan, with previews starting August 5th prior to an official press opening on August 19th. Not your typical theater experience, POWER BALLADZ is a 90-minute rock tribute that gives audiences the chance to unleash their inner rock star: part comedy, part interactive game show, and a genuine joy ride through the music and legend of rock songs by powerhouse bands such as Guns 'N' Roses, Journey, Heart, Queens, Bon Jovi, Styx and more. POWER BALLADZ is created by Mike Todaro and Dan Nycklemoe with Peter Rothstein and written by Mr. Todaro and Mr. Nycklemoe. (more...)

While Artistic Director Sean Murray's Sweeney Todd is currently slashing up the Cygnet Theatre stage, final casting has been completed for the upcoming production of NoŽl Coward's Private Lives. Co-Directed by Cygnet Artistic Director Sean Murray and Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke, the cast includes Manny Fernandes, Annie Hinton, Jessica John, Sean Murray and Shana Wride. Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andrť Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Peter Bartlett, Nicole Beharie, Arnie Burton, Rosal Colon, Veanne Cox, Paul Dano, Sara Gettelfinger, Joseph Marcell, Nick Mennell, mos, Teyonnah Parris, Brian Reddy, Reg Rogers, Triney Sandoval, Robert Stanton, Wendy Rich Stetson, David Emerson Toney and Jeffrey Wright will be featured in it upcoming production of A FREE MAN OF COLOR, a new play by John Guare, directed by George C. Wolfe, which will begin performances Thursday, October 21 at 8pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Opening night is Thursday, November 18 at 6:45pm. (more...)

Beginning on August 11 and continuing through August 29, Pinter's 1975 modern classic No Man's Land, directed by artistic director Bonnie J. Monte, will run at the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre.
