Inspired by the 1943 rescue of the Danish Jews by their Christian fellow citizens in Nazi occupied Denmark, town residents of all colors and religions came together to take a stand in a way that has become a model for communities across the nation.

'A Moon for the Misbegotten,' written between 1941-1943 was performed for the first time in Columbus, Ohio in 1947. The play premiered on Broadway in 1957 and has been revived four times, winning multiple Tony Awards. The most recent production starring Kevin Spacey and Eve Best in 2007 came to Broadway after its run at the Old Vic Theatre in London.

On Sunday, November 9, the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht, and 75 years since Adolf Hitler's rise to power, the Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust and The Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada, will launch 'Music in Exile-Emigré Composers of the 1930s,' a five-day series of concerts, talks, and a music-theater piece celebrating the music of Jewish composers forced to flee the Third Reich and German composers who resisted the Nazi regime.
