Veteran producer Effie T. Brown (Dear White People, Project Greenlight, Real Women Have Curves) has been named the new CEO of Gamechanger, which launched in 2013 as the first film financing fund by and for women. Brown is broadening the fund's scope to include projects by and about people of color, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Gamechanger is also expanding into television and digital content with a new, fully monetized development fund that will enable it to buy, option and develop IP for television, streaming and digital platforms.

ABC announced today that King of the Highwire Nik Wallenda and his sister, Lijana, seventh-generation members of the Wallenda family circus troupe, will return to the highwire for a never-before-attempted walk of approximately 1,300 feet long and 25 stories above street level, across New York City's iconic Times Square, live on SUNDAY, JUNE 23 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT). “Highwire Live in Times Square with Nik Wallenda” will air as a live two-hour televised event. The walk marks Lijana Wallenda's first highwire walk since the 2017 accident where she, along with four others, tragically fell 30 feet off a tightrope during a rehearsal.

Following solo and concerto performances at Queens College's Karol Rathaus Festival last month, Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski (vnoo-koff'-skee) further champions the music of this long-neglected Galician-Jewish composer with the launch of a recording cycle of Karol Rathaus's complete works for solo piano. The project, spanning four volumes on Toccata Classics, is an extension of Mr. Wnukowski's advocacy for music suppressed by the Nazi regime, and all of the works on Volume 1 appear on recording for the first time.

The performance chronicles the tragic and true story of Myles Fukunaga, a mentally ill 19-year-old, who was executed on Oahu in 1929. This heartbreaking, expressionistic drama recounts Fukunaga's horrifying descent into madness, his unspeakable crime, and the ultimate injustice of his trial and death sentence.
