The Nurses Ball became a Port Charles tradition in 1994 as a way to bring attention to the growing need for A.I.D.S. research. At this year's edition Chief-of-Staff Obrecht, recently released from jail, feels left out of the festivities, and decides to force herself into the action with a bit of Alan Cumming showmanship. Confirmed: HERE LIES LOVE to Play National's Dorfman Theatre

Director Alex Timbers has confirmed that Here Lies Love, the musical based on David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's 2010 concept album, will be opening in London at the National's Dorfman Theatre in October. The show tells the story of Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos' rise to power and subsequent descent into infamy and disgrace at the end of the People Power Revolution. It originally opened in April 2013 at the Public Theatre in New York City, and was extended by popular demand on four occasions. (more...)

Washington National Opera (WNO) celebrates its sixth season of free opera simulcasts at Nationals Park with title sponsor Mars, Incorporated for the M&M'S® Opera in the Outfield performance of Mozart's beloved classic The Magic Flute today, May 3, 2014. Sung in English and featuring a colorful kaleidoscope of sets and costumes by Japanese- American artist Jun Kaneko, The Magic Flute is a perfect opera for the entire family.
