Commedia Beauregard, a Chicago-based theatre company, announces the publication of three play collections as part of its Master Works short play festival. This is the seventh time that Commedia Beauregard has held the festival, which translates paintings to the stage, but the first time the plays will be available in print. The new scripts include works based on the paintings of Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Degas. This year's offering, Master Works: The Degas Plays will also be performed at the Den Theatre for one weekend only -- today, May 29th through June 1st, 2014. CALGARY, AB - In celebration of a Calgary tradition 50 years strong, Mayor Naheed Nenshi proclaims May 26 to June 1 'Marathon Week.' The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon 50th Anniversary kicks off with the opening of the annual Health and Wellness Expo and Race Package Pickup at The Big Four in Stampede Park. A record 15,000 runners and walkers will take to the streets on Sunday participating in races for all ages and abilities including a 50K ultra, Marathon, 21.1K, 10K and 5K Family Walk and Run. Echoles in collaboration with Dawn Bless, directed by Black Ensemble Associate Director Daryl D. Brooks. One Hit Wonders will be presented at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N.
