Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, Tyson Kelly creates music which fuses gritty 60's psych rock with tripped-out modern pop soundscapes. As a New York Film Academy graduate, Kelly's artistic flair runs deep throughout his music and visuals. Having taught himself both classical piano and guitar from a young age, his music reaps musical maturity, with his highly anticipated debut EP featuring an eclectic mix of both old and new. 

Let me start, Dear Readers, by saying this is NOT the frothy Disney cartoon you may recall from your youth. Yes, it does contain many of the Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz songs from the 1996 Disney animated film but this show is more akin to the Victor Hugo novel than the cartoon. Gone are the silly, wise-cracking gargoyles whom you might find recreated in a Happy Meal, and amped up is the story of religious persecution, intolerance, sex, and betrayal. Leading me to wonder, what audience are they aiming for? Disney songs, filled out with heady albeit soaringly beautiful choral pieces, and a dark and gritty story that (spoiler alert) does not end well for everyone. And this is my biggest problem with the show, it can't make up its mind as to what it wants to be.

Thou have announced their return with new full-length, 'Magus'. Scott Wheeler's opera, The Sorrows of Frederick, will be seen at Brooklyn's Irondale Center on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 8pm. Act 1 of this two-act opera is being presented as part of Center for Contemporary Opera's Development Series. The libretto is by Romulus Linney. Mark Shapiro conducts and Beth Greenberg is the stage director with Keith Phares singing the title role of Frederick.

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) continues our Improvisionaries season presenting trailblazing composer and electric violist, Martha Mooke.  COP's fifth series program at the Kimmel Center, Mozart, Mooke, and Faure, will feature Mozart's brilliant Symphony No. 38 "Prague." This iconic work received its first performance in Prague during one of Mozart's most successful tours to the city. The "Prague" symphony will share the program with a new commission by Martha Mooke. Mooke's unique style crosses the classical, jazz, and rock genres with a compelling and singular musical voice. In addition to concert appearances worldwide, Mooke's work has been featured in recordings that often defy categorization, including David Bowie's Heathen CD.

Wolves in the Throne Room have re-imagined black metal as an ode to rain storms, wood smoke and the wild energies of the Pacific Northwest since the release of their first studio album in 2006.  Twelve years later, Wolves in the Throne Room have become one of the most potent and highly regarded bands in extreme music; their music is a doorway into a mythic ethereal Heathen landscape entered through music, magic and dreams.

Signature Theatre is excited to announce the cast and creative team for the world premiere of 4,380 Nights by DC playwright Annalisa Dias. The production will be directed by Kathleen Akerley (Artistic Director of Longacre Lea) and will feature Ahmad Kamal (Woolly Mammoth's KISS) as Malik Essaid/El Hadj El Kaim, Michael John Casey (Shakespeare Theatre's Othello, Folger Theatre's Henry V) as Bud Abramson/Man, Rex Daugherty (Signature'sShakespeare's R&J) as Luke/Colonel Pelissier, and Lynette Rathnam (Ford Theatre's Death of a Salesman) as Woman (complete cast and creative team bios are below). 4,380 Nights will run from January 16 through February 18 in Signature Theatre's ARK Theatre. 4,380 Nights is Signature's submission to the 2018 Women's Voices Theater Festival.

This Friday, September 22nd, one of the most potent and highly regarded bands in heavy metal today - Wolves In The Throne Room - will open a portal into their mythic ethereal heathen landscape with the release of Thrice Woven, via their own label Artemisia Records.

HISTORY has ordered a 20 episode sixth season of the hit drama series VIKINGS, it was announced by Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President of Programming, HISTORY. Additionally, series regular Katheryn Winnick is set to helm one episode in season six, marking her directorial debut. Production for season six is slated to begin this fall in Ireland.

HISTORY's hit drama series VIKINGS returns on Wednesday, November 29 at 9 PM ET/PT with a two-hour season five premiere, it was announced from San Diego Comic-Con International. An exclusive trailer of the new season was unveiled during the 'Vikings' cast panel this evening at Comic-Con.
