Eighty-Eight Entertainment presents the Chicago Premiere of Hershey Felder's riveting new production, AN AMERICAN STORY for ACTOR AND ORCHESTRA, which tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's last day, in a limited engagement at The Royal George Theatre, 1641 North Halsted, currently in previews and opening Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. The Chicago Premiere follows successful tryout productions in Los Angeles and San Diego. New York Live Arts to Stage World Premiere of Yasuko Yokoshi's BELL, 3/16; Live Stream Set for 3/23

New York Live Arts will present the world premiere of Yasuko Yokoshi's BELL on March 16, 2013 at 7:30pm in its Bessie Schonberg Theater. Yokoshi was appointed as the inaugural Resident Commissioned Artist (RCA) of New York Live Arts in July 2011. The RCA program identifies and supports outstanding mid-career artists and is one of the most generous and supportive awards offered to a choreographer in the United States, providing two years of residency time and a commission of a new work, as well as salary and benefits.

Open Fist Theatre to Open THE GOOD THIEF, 3/24

The Open Fist Theatre Company presents THE GOOD THIEF, written by Conor McPherson and directed by Scott Paulin (Foote Notes, St. Nicholas) and starring Michael McGee. Mr. Paulin and Mr. McGee's previous collaboration on the McPherson play St. Nicholas was a critically-acclaimed endeavor at the Stephanie Feury Theatre. THE GOOD THIEF, will preview on St. Patrick's Day - Sunday, March 17 at 7pm; Monday, March 18 at 8pm and will open on Sunday, March 24 at 7pm and runs through Monday, April 29 at the Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Dallas Theater Center to Present THE ODD COUPLE, 3/15-4/14

Dallas Theater Center announced today the upcoming production of Neil Simon's classic American comedy, The Odd Couple, directed by DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. When two men with struggling relationships, neat and particular Felix Ungar and disheveled and rough-edged Oscar Madison, decide to live together, the results are funny and poignant. The Odd Couple opens with previews on Friday, March 15 and runs through Sunday, April 14 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Marin Theatre and Virginia Stage's THE WHIPPING MAN to Play in Norfolk thru 3/17; Opens at MTC, 4/2

Marin Theatre Company, in a co-production with Virginia Stage Company, will stage the regional premiere of Matthew Lopez's Civil War drama The Whipping Man in Mill Valley from March 28 to April 21, 2013. MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis directs the production. Featuring popular Bay Area actors L. Peter Callender, Nicholas Pelczar and Tobie Windham, as well as the design team from MTC's 2011 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nominated production of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie, this co-production will rehearse and run at VSC in Norfolk, Virginia, from February 26 to March 17, 2013, before moving to MTC. Opening night at MTC is on Tuesday, April 2.

Galerie Lelong presents Che Fare?, an exhibition focused on the unique visual vocabulary and radical works of Luciano Fabro, Jannis Kounellis, and Mario Merz. The exhibition title, translated as What is to be done?, is derived from a series by Merz named after Vladimir Lenin's 1902 pamphlet on the importance of the intellectual's role in revolution. Merz, Fabro, and Kounellis's work expanded this question to challenge the artist's individual place in society and to push art's boundaries beyond traditional painting and sculpture. Che Fare? opens to the public today, February 21, 2013 with a reception from 6 to 8pm, and will be on view through March 30, 2013.
