Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman Willis, the producers of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, announced today that Bianca Marroquin will take over the role of 'Daniela' for 9 weeks only from Saturday, June 12, through Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). In The Heights currently stars Corbin Bleu (through August 17), and beginning August 19 will star American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.

On Thursday, June 3, from 1:30 - 2PM at the Richard Rodgers Theater (226 W. 46th St, New York, NY), Latino cast members from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musicals WEST SIDE STORY and IN THE HEIGHTS joined the American Heart Association for 'The Heartbeat of Broadway,' a special event to learn the new Hands-OnlyTM CPR during National CPR Awareness Week 2010. Klein Hired to Adapt IN THE HEIGHTS for Film; Filming to Start in August

Variety is reporting that Marc Klein has taken over writing the adaption of In the Heights for the big screen. It was previously announced that the screenplay would be penned by the show's scribe, Quiara Alegria Hudes, but the team is looking to 'give the project a fresh set of eyes.'
The paper also reports that Klein will be working closely with Lin-Manuel Miranda who will be reprising his starring role as they aim to start filming this August, in New York City.
No other details have yet been revealed other than the expected addition of an additional song, written for the film.
