The Tony Award winning musical 1776 is based on the events leading up to the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence. John Adams, disliked by many in Congress, joins Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson to bring forward a resolution for independence that will eventually set America free from England's tyranny. Powerful performances by a cast of 25, and an impeccably crafted script make 1776 as relevant today as it was when first written. 1776 delivers a riveting evening of theatre filled with history, humor, heart and romance.
Legendary Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley will continue her successful Song Interpretation Workshop hosted by Imagination Celebration in September and October 2009. The Fort Worth native will assist aspiring young artists and experienced performers and educators in the craft of singing, acting and storytelling.

Today Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the creative team for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story. It features the work of Olivier Award-winning choreographer Steven Hoggett and music supervisor Tom Kitt, the Tony-winning composer who provided string arrangements for the band's latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.
