Glen Cove, N.Y. resident Frederick Stroppel, author of nine collections of full-length plays and one-acts, many of which have been performed in New York and internationally, has chosen Long Island's Bare Bones Theater Company for the world premiere of Dead of Night, an evening of two one-act plays of macabre humor and suspense. There will be eight performances, beginning tonight, February 1, and continuing through February 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15 and 16, 2013, at 57 Main Street in Northport, NY.

Cartoon Network announced a slew of athletes and celebrity presenters including Jessica Alba, star of upcoming animated film Escape from Planet Earth, Ryan Lochte, Olympic gold medalist in swimming, Mario Lopez, host of EXTRA, McKayla Maroney, Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics and NFL Pro-Bowl starters Victor Cruz and JJ Watt for the third annual Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards, premiering Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. (ET, PT).

The opening night has been set for Wednesday, January 30, at 7pm.

The Rubin Museum will explore illusion and human perception in this year's edition of the popular Brainwave series of on-stage conversations between mind scientists and thinkers from diverse walks of life. Opening on February 6, the series will include 20 on-stage conversations, 50 film screenings, and an interactive experience in which the museum will become a Memory Palace. While illusion is usually associated with vision, the series will engage audiences through all five senses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

It was another rollercoaster of a show last night as the six remaining acts became the final four on THE X FACTOR. Unfortunately for CeCe Frey, the competition came to an end at the top of the show. Following that news, it was announced that Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate Stevens were safe and therefore immediately advanced to next week's Semi-Finals.

Tin Lily Productions, a Brooklyn based company dedicated to the production of socially relevant theatre, is producing 'Woyzeck' or 'The Endless Cycle,' a new adaptation and composition by William Lewis and Charlie Biscotto based on the original text by Georg Buchner. Performances will be held at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City and are scheduled to run from tonight, November 7th through November 18th, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with Matinee performances Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 5 PM.
