Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient John Heginbotham and acclaimed illustrator and author Maira Kalman join forces in the world premiere of The Principles of Uncertainty, closing the Festival in the Doris Duke Theatre, August 23-27. Co-commissioned by the Pillow and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and developed during multiple Pillow Creative Development Residencies, The Principles of Uncertainty is an evening-length dance theatre work choreographed and directed by Heginbotham, designed by Kalman and inspired by her written and visual art, and set to a score composed, arranged, and curated by Brooklyn Rider and Silk Road Ensemble's Colin Jacobsen. Members of The Knights, Jacobsen's innovative chamber orchestra, will perform live, and Maira Kalman herself is also featured in the performance.

Today (4 August 2017) Michael Harrison and David Ian, Producers of the West End production of Annie announced that from 18 September to 26 November 2017, Craig Revel Horwood will join the West End Company to play the role of Miss Hannigan for 10 weeks.

Last night, Nikolai Foster's revival of Annie opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in London's West End. The production stars Miranda Hart as Miss Hannigan, Alex Bourne as Daddy Warbucks, Holly Dale Spencer as Grace Farrell, Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily.

Every day these lawyers, judges, parole officers and staff members work to transform the lives of women repeatedly convicted for prostitution. In her daring and vital new play Project Dawn, playwright Karen Hartman probes the thin lines between freedom and slavery, activism and obsession, for women on both sides of the law. Inspired by Hartman's extensive, first-hand research inside Philly's real-life court system, and cast with seven actresses who play multiple characters, this production represents the first world premiere to emerge from the acclaimed New Play Frontiers Residency & Commission program at People's Light. Performances run March 10 - April 9, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Central Works has extended its 2017 season opener, the bizarre mystery about twin sisters Years in the Hundreds by Jesse Potterveld, it is now extended and must close March 26. Playwright Jesse Potterveld's debut production Years in the Hundreds was met with an engaged and enthusiastic response from the press and audiences alike. The production was described at its premiere as "riveting & raw" with "delicious and disastrous secrets, harboring crime, love, and dalliances." In Years in the Hundreds "even the strangest things appear plausible" yet "unnervingly unpredictable".  Directed by Gary Graves, Years in the Hundreds was developed in the Central Works Writers Workshop and features actors Tamar Cohn, Anne Hallinan and Adam Roy.
