The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2011 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Broadway's Brent Barrett, most recently seen in CHICAGO will play the lead role of Hannibal Lecter in the new Off Broadway production of the spoof hit, Silence! reports Variety today. Jenn Harris will play the role of detective Clarice Starling in the parody of the hit 1991 thriller, 'The Silence of the Lambs.' Donna Hanover and Colman Domingo hosted a luncheon yesterday, June 9 at the National Arts Club. A benefit for the Vineyard Theatre's artistic and education programs, playwright Branden Jacobs Jenkins was presented with the Vineyard Theatre's 4th annual Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, given each year to a gifted emerging playwright.
