Award-winning pioneer playwright Qui Nguyen brilliantly chronicles the love story of his parents' meeting in an Arkansas refugee center after fleeing Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975. The San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) released the detailed performance schedule for the 2018 Program today. Forty different artist ensembles and companies will present their work exclusively at the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) from May 24 - June 3. Westport Country Playhouse has received a $10,000 grant from Fairfield County's Community Foundation for general operating support of the non-profit organization's 2017 season. The nationally recognized professional theater serves an estimated annual audience of 60,000.

Tony, Emmy, and two-time Golden Globe nominee Matthew Morrison will headline Westport Country Playhouse's 2017 fundraising gala on Saturday evening, September 9. New this year will be the Gala's move to Saturday evening instead of Monday night as in past seasons. The Gala's theme, 'Moonlight Over Venice,' is a nod to the Playhouse's autumn production of 'Romeo and Juliet'.

Westport Country Playhouse will host a 2017 Season Kick-off Block Party, on Saturday, May 6, 4 to 7 p.m., offering a fun, party-like atmosphere with food trucks, activities, prizes, music, special ticket offers, and a look at the Playhouse's "backstage experience." American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) announced today that applications for the fall 2017 San Francisco Semester (SFS) are now being accepted. The study-away program brings undergraduate students, recent college graduates, and international students into an active, ongoing engagement with the eclectic and energetic arts community of San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. Grounded in a rich academic curriculum, the San Francisco Semester focuses on the practical aspects of the craft of acting and life in the professional theater.
