As a premier entertainment showplace for acclaimed international stars, iconic American artists, and celebrated regional performers, The Grand 1894 Opera House continues to produce an annual performing arts season that delivers 'living in the moment' entertainment experiences that capture the imagination of its audiences. Its 2016-2017 Performing Arts Season will include many such memorable events.

Miller Auditorium has announced its 2016-17 Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series.  Along with the previously announced PNC Broadway in West Michigan Series of Dirty Dancing-The Classic Story on Stage (Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2016), The Book of Mormon (Oct. 18-23, 2016), RENT (Nov. 11-13, 2016), Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella (March 24-26, 2017) and Motown the Musical (May 9-14, 2017), this completes our current lineup of 2016-17 season events. As in seasons past, additional shows will be added to the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series during the season and notifications will be sent through our Miller Auditorium e-club: www.millerauditorium.com/eclub.

 Multi-platinum-selling country artist Sara Evans, ukulele phenomenon Jake Shimabukuro, Grammy-nominated folk singer-songwriter Iris DeMent, Blues Hall of Famer Robert Cray, and the Nashville assemblage of high-dollar studio musicians The Time Jumpers, featuring Vince Gill, Kenny Sears, Ranger Doug Green, and Paul Franklin, are just a few of the artists set to appear at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University during its 2016-2017 season.

The 2016 Tony Awards are in the history books, so now it's time to look ahead at the 2016-2017 Broadway season. The West End production of Motown the Musical has proven its popularity in London.

The Hollywood Pantages, a Nederlander Theatre, is proud to announce the addition of four new productions, all with strictly-limited engagements, during the 2016/2017 Winter season. The new lineup will include three Hollywood Pantages return engagements and one L.A. Premiere.

FROZEN LIVE AT THE HYPERION, a new theatrical adaptation based on Disney's animated blockbuster film, opens May 27 at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park in Southern California.

MOTOWN is getting a new Smokey! Not only that, but the Daily Mail writes that the West End production of Motown the Musical is extending through October 2017. Obioma Ugoala will join the cast as 'Smokey Robinson' starting July 4, 2016.

Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy just announced complete casting for the Broadway return of Motown The Musical, beginning performances Tuesday, July 12 at The Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41Street) for a strictly limited 18-week-only engagement through Sunday, November 13, 2016.

Rebecca LaChance surprised the 800 attendees of the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts preview on March 30 at the Southern Theatre. LaChance, who performed 'Beautiful' and '(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,' is expected to play the title role in BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL when the national tour has a six-day stopover in June, 2017 in Columbus.

DeVos Performance Hall will be alive with the sounds of music in the 2016-17 BGR season. Kicking off the season is Tony Award® winning musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, a family favorite with some new twists! Also in the season line-up will be the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien, marking the 50 year anniversary of the beloved musical movie. Featuring more than 40 classic hits, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul, will come to Grand Rapids in May of 2017. DIRTY DANCING- THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE will complete the season in June.

The Fabulous Fox Theatre announces an extraordinary season of Tony Award-winning Best Musicals in the 2016-2017 U.S. Bank Broadway Series including FUN HOME, Fox Theatricals' own critically-acclaimed 2015 Tony Award-winning Best Musical. FUN HOME is one of six shows making its St. Louis debut and one of seven shows in this season's lineup which can claim the Tony Award for Best Musical honor.

Broadway in Indianapolis announces the all-new 2016-2017 season which includes RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, and the Indiana premiere of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, KINKY BOOTS.  Also, returning as a season option, JERSEY BOYS will take the stage at Clowes Memorial Hall next year!

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts announces the highly anticipated lineup of performances for the 2016-2017 Broadway Las Vegas Series.

PlayMakers Repertory Company proudly announces its 2016/17 Season.  Dynamic plays from three important women playwrights, plus a landmark drama by Arthur Miller, a romantic Shakespearean romp and a beloved musical masterpiece will highlight the new Mainstage Season from PlayMakers Repertory Company. The new season is the first selected for the theater by Vivienne Benesch, PlayMakers' new  Producing Artistic Director.

Just in time for previews, which start tonight 11 February in the West End, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL has announced an extension through 18 February 2017. The Daily Mail revealed this evening that 200,000 new tickets are now on sale.
