Eastenders Repertory Company closes Season 2008-2009 with PRIDE OPEN, an ensemble-created story-telling project exploring our contemporary conceptions of sexual identity. Conceived of and directed by Eastenders Founding Artistic Director and Playwright in Residence Charles E. Polly, the production features an ensemble of Eastenders company members and local performers, including Reg Clay, John Hutchinson, Rachel L. Jacobs, Suzan Kendall, Aaron Martinsen, Adeola Role and Vidya Sundaram.

A finalist in the National Endowment for the Arts New Play Development Program, 26 Miles takes audiences on a road trip with a teenage daughter and her mother in an '83 Buick Regal. Along the way, they discover plenty about themselves, their relationship and what family really means. The producers of ROCK OF AGES announced the complete, awesome cast for Broadway's new, smash hit musical today. Russell. The production, directed by Metzgar and Youth Theatre Program co- founder Megan Carney, will be presented at the Center on Halsted.
'Though set in the late '80s, our production incorporates very contemporary, interactive elements that kids are using today to express who they are- blogging, social networks, texting, personal video,' says co-director Metzgar. 'In fact, we will encourage audience members to leave cell phones on during the show and become a part of the action. We wanted to create a live collage of images and impressions from both eras to build a mash-up of
these two generations.'
To celebrate stupid stories about high school, About Face has launched the Stupid Kids Stuff Blog (http://stupidkidstuff.blogspot.com/), providing an
opportunity for visitors to share their personal stories about being a 'stupid kid' and to participate in the Stupid Kids Multimedia Art Contest. Winning submissions will be featured in performances of the show and artists will receive complimentary tickets.

Presented by Shstrng Producions, the 2nd Annual One-Minute Play Festival features 90 plays, 40 actors and nine directors. Each play will be one minute in length. Curated by Dominic D'Andrea, the festival displays the talents of over forty emerging American playwrights and will be mounted at Barrow Group Arts Center in New York on Saturday October 25th at 8PM and Sunday, October 26th at 2PM and 8PM. The 2008 One-Minute Play Directors include Carlos Armesto, Dylan McCullough, Kim Weild, Claire Lundberg, Dominic D'Andrea, Lou Moreno, Shelley Butler, Jacob Krueger, & Michael Gardner.
