The competition for the Academy Awards' Original Score category is heating up with 84 film scores vying for a spot in the competition - yet one film's inclusion as potential nominee may have barely squeaked in despite the Academy's staunch rules on eligibility.

The 2009-2010 season of Reprise Theatre Company continues with Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Carousel,' January 26 to February 7 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Alexandra Silber stars as Julie Jordan, direct from her critically acclaimed portrayal of Julie Jordan in 'Carousel' at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End (TMA Award - Best Actress). Variety is reporting that the latest Disney animated release 'The Princess and the Frog' claimed the the top of the box office chart on Friday, making $7 million off 3,434 theaters in its first Friday of wide release.
