New programs for Lincoln Center Local HD, a pilot program running April through June in branch libraries in Brooklyn and Queens, were announced today by Russell Granet, Executive Director of Lincoln Center Education. These events, which launched in January, are part of the two-year pilot program that will feature digital streams of programs from Lincoln Center's growing digital content collection, including programs from the Emmy Award-winning series Live From Lincoln Center. The Lincoln Center Local HD pilot program is part of Lincoln Center Education's (LCE) expanded mission to bring Lincoln Center's high-quality resources to new and underserved audiences and communities.
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of THE TEMPEST, produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at The Smith Center in Las Vegas today, April 5-13, 2014. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, THE TEMPEST is adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. THE TEMPEST will perform at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate controlled tent before moving to Cambridge, MA to begin performances at A.R.T.
The Public Theater will launch a new, state-of-the-art website this month. The site, building upon the recent revitalization of The Public's downtown home at Astor Place, establishes a dynamic and engaging digital home at Publictheater.org. The LuEsther T. Mertz Charitable Trust, a long-time funder and supporter for two generations, has awarded The Public a grant supporting this effort and the creation and implementation of innovative field-leading business strategies for The Public Theater. The grant, intended to help ensure the future viability of the institution, includes funds for the redesign and re-launch of Publictheater.org which now incorporates joespub.com and shakespeareinthepark.org.

Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, will return this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman'sFaust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, withbook, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19. Reframed Pictures mission is to create and support films that are not only entertaining, but also raise awareness about human rights and social justice issues. The Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO) organization will present the 39th season of their In School Opera program that reaches out to 30,000 school children in Dade and Broward counties. Roundabout Theatre Company has announced Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will play the role of 'Eleanor Swan' in the Off-Broadway premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff. The production will begin performances on September 4 and open Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Centre for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
