National Theatre of London Puts a New Twist on Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT in an Encore at The Ridgefield Playhouse on 4/24

The National Theatre brings an inventive new take and gender-fluid approach to Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in which the classic male role of Malvolio is to be reimagined as Malvolia, played by Tamsin Greig. The Ridgefield Playhouse and Craig's Fine Jewelry Live in HD Series brings this classic comedy of mistaken identity to the big screen on Monday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.  A ship is wrecked on the rocks. Viola is washed ashore but her twin brother Sebastian is lost. Determined to survive on her own, she steps out to explore a new land. (more...)

The New York Choral Society (NYCHORAL) under the direction of its Music Director David Hayes will give the New York Premiere of celebrated Scottish composer James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion. NYCHORAL will be joined by organist Jason Roberts as well as the remarkable Brooklyn Youth Chorus under Artistic Director Dianne Berkun Menaker. James MacMillan's St. Luke Passion, written in 2013, is the second of four planned works, each based on one of the Gospels which aim to approach the differing passion accounts from contrasting stylistic per-spectives. Theater Works concludes the 2016-17 PuppetWorks season with a revival of last season's underwater blacklight adventure SEA OF IMAGINATION.  Sammy the star falls from the sky and lands under the sea. His underwater adventures take him places he's never been and he meets new sea creatures. On his quest, he discovers that home is where the heart is. PuppetWorks productions are performed in the black light style of puppetry causing the puppets, scenery and even the audience to glow.
