A new musical about a runaway slave who becomes one of America's first Black Cowboys will debut this fall when CROSS THAT RIVER is presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Patricia Harris, starting October 12, 2009 at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - 3rd Floor) in New York City.

The Chicago Tribune's Chris Jones is reporting in his 'Theater Loop', that The Bank of America Theatre in Chicago's Loop, which the hit musical JERSEY BOYS calls home, was evacuated around 9 p.m. Tuesday night after police found two suspicious boxes with notes attached in the alley outside the theater.

As a special thank you to Chicago and to commemorate the second anniversary of performances at the Bank of America Theatre, the Chicago company of JERSEY BOYS will host four 'Stage Side Chats' with cast members. Audience members at Tuesday night performances through the month of October (October 6, 13, 20 and 27) will be invited to a brief question and answer session following that evening's performance with the actors who bring this show to life eight times a week. This is the last chance theatergoers will have to get up close and personal with Chicago's JERSEY BOYS before they end their run at the Bank of America Theater on January 10, 2010.

Playwrights Theatre Presents Jersey Premiere of 'Our Dad Is In Atlantis' Oct 1 - 18

Playwrights Theatre is pleased to present the New Jersey Premiere of Our Dad is In Atlantis by Mexican playwright, Javier Malpica (translation by Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas). In a co-production with The Growing Stage in Netcong, NJ, Our Dad is in Atlantis will preview on October 1 and run for three weeks through October 18, 2009 (Press Opening: Friday, October 2 at 8:00pm). The production will be directed by David Winitsky and features Carlos Ibarra and Ephraim López. Single tickets are on sale now for $15 as well as season subscribers for $45. A student (appropriate for ages 11 and up) and senior matinee is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 and October 14 at 10:30am and Ladies Night at the Playwrights Theatre will be held on Thursday, October 8 beginning at 5pm with curtain at 6:30pm. The Chicago Company of JERSEY BOYS will say 'Bye, Bye Baby' to the Windy City on January 10, 2010, after an incredible run of over two years at the Bank of America Theatre. JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, premiered in Chicago initially as a limited engagement on October 5, 2007. After opening to rave reviews, adding additional performance weeks and setting four new box office records, JERSEY BOYS became a resident production on February 27, 2008. The final performance on January 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. will be the Chicago Company's 951st. The final block of tickets for performances from November 24, 2009 - January 10, 2010 will go on sale on Friday, September 11 at 10 a.m.
