Auden, imagining a meeting between the former friends, 25 years after they last saw each other, in which they are "observed and interrupted by, amongst others, their future biographer and a young man from the local bus station."

Hart & Patrick Milling Smith and film and theatre producers, Fred Zollo and Barbara Broccoli & Michael G Wilson have announced the creative team for upcoming stage adaptation of the 2007 Academy Award-winning film ONCE, coming to Broadway in Fall 2011. The musical will feature the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), direction by the acclaimed Scottish director of Black Watch, John Tiffany, design by five time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins). Steven Hoggett (American Idiot, Black Watch) will provide musical staging and Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!) is the music director.

Acorn Productions, a non-profit art presented located in the Dana Warp Mill, announces plans for the 2010 Maine Playwrights Festival (MPF), the ninth annual spotlight on brand new plays by local writers, which will take place from April 15 to May 1 at the St.
It was announced today that the Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire won the Theatre Award at the final South Bank Show Awards. The production ran from August to October 2009 with a cast including Jack Ashton, Elliot Cowan, Charles Daish, Judy Hepburn, Barnaby Kay, Gary Milner, Daniela Nardini, Luke Rutherford, Rachel Weisz, and Ruth Wilson.
The nominees for the final South Bank Show Awards for 2010 have been announced, and include An Education and The Seagull stage star Carey Mulligan, and Enron playwright Lucy Prebble. Enron will be making its Broadway premiere this spring. Both are up for The Times Breakthrough Award, which will be presented by Sir Ian McKellen.
The UK Daily Mail is reporting that Alan Bennett's The Habit of Art is hoping to move to Broadway in the Spring of 2011. The production began playing at the National Theatre's Lyttleton Theater in November 5, 2009 and will be broadcast in April 2010 live to cinema screens worldwide. It's expected that the leads, Richard Griffiths, Alex Jennings and Frances de la Tour would accompany the production as well.
The New York Times has named its standout newcomers to the London theatre scene in 2009. London is well-known for its excellent revivals that often make their way to Broadway. This year, however, several notable new productions made a splash on the London theatre circuit.
