The NZCT Chamber Music Contest is the longest running youth music competition in New Zealand and is the only nationwide chamber music competition for young secondary school musicians and composers in the country.

From hundreds of ensembles performing in 15 District Rounds a total of 36 groups (12 per region) are selected to progress through to their Regional Finals round.

It is from the Regional Finals that 12 groups from across the country will be selected to go on to the National Semi Finals, with the top six progressing to the National Final where the overall winner of the Jubilee Year NZCT Chamber Music Contest will be announced.
