While flying his kite in Central Park, a mentally challenged man is attracted by an Albanian flutist who escaped to New York from Kosova. This is the beginning of Richard Warren's Trio with Flute which closes at Canyon Moon Theatre January 23, 2011.

Although warned by his guardian Aunt Lou not to wander off with strangers, William helps Feride to her home. The secret motivations of these three very different people are revealed as they struggle to build relationships in a complicated world. Playwright Richard Warren tells this poignant story of loss, hope and determination with humor and a clear understanding of the complexities of life. Kerry Lengel, drama critic for The Arizona Republic, praised Trio in his review: "...the journey is worthwhile, provoking both thought and emotion."

Canyon Moon Theatre's Director, Mary Guaraldi, chose Trio with Flute because the script is "so richly textured that its story crosses the boundaries of age, culture and time. I was surprised by the events and by the characters. This is the kind of play-writing that speaks to audiences on many levels."

Playwright Richard Warren is co-founder of Phoenix Theatre's highly regarded New Works Festival. His plays have been seen throughout the country and his piece In the Valley of the Sun was done at CMT in Season 6. Warren participated in the University of Idaho's 2008 Festival of New Works, Montana Rep's 2009 and 2010 Missoula Colonies and was honored as Phoenix Theatre's 2010 Angel of the Art.

Featuring Angelica Frost Howland, Walter Winston Oneil and Linda Peterson, this show brings together three exciting actors who are new to the Canyon Moon Stage.
Angelica Howland has played the role of Feride in Trio with Flute in two past productions to great acclaim. She recently completed a run of In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play and Doubt, a Parable both with Actors Theatre of Phoenix. She performed in The Laramie Project, 10 Years Later that was a collaboration with Arizona Theatre Company, Actors Theatre, ASU and Stray Cat Theatre.

Walter Winston Oneil has appeared in over 250 professional stage productions worldwide. He was an original cast member in the Broadway companies of Wicked and A Tale of Two Cities. Walter is the only cast member of Wicked to be with the show from its table-read inception through its triumphant Broadway opening. His favorite stage credits include Yoko Ono's New York Rock, Sweeney Todd, The Rocky Horror Show, The Who's Tommy (Tommy), as well as the international tours of Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Linda Peterson has enjoyed a professional career in theatre, film and television for over thirty years.

Recently, she performed at The Missoula Colony in Montana and at Phoenix Theatre's New Works Festival. Other regional theatre roles include Helena in Midsummer Nights Dream at the ALLIANCE THEATRE, Atlanta and Wife in Table Settings at The Next Move, Boston. On television, she played Holly in the Emmy awarding-winning film See How She Runs opposite JoAnne Woodward.
