Opening its 28th Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Treasure Island, adapted and directed by Mary Zimmerman from the book by Robert Louis Stevenson in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Treasure Island runs October 7, 2015 - January 31, 2016 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Alexandra Silber directs Pace University School of Performing Arts first-year students Kevin Csolak and Bethany Tesarck in an adaptation of Ovid's METAMORPHOSES with text from the play by Mary Zimmerman, additional choreography by Noah Racey, and music by Willy Schwartz and Antigoni Goni. Following its acclaimed 16-week run at the Lookingglass Theatre Company this fall, Metamorphoses brings the mythical tales of Ovid to life at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, 10 years after the Broadway premiere. The Public Theater presents VENICE, a new musical with book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax, lyrics by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, and additional music by Curtis Moore, for its 2013 spring season at the newly revitalized Public Theater at Astor Place. Directed by Eric Rosen, VENICE will run in The Public's Anspacher Theater beginning on Tuesday, May 28 through Sunday, June 23, with an official press opening on Thursday, June 13. VENICE is a next generation Broadway musical that uses the vocabulary of hip-hop while sampling Othello and Brecht to spin an epic tale of struggle and redemption. Watch a promo for the show below!

Lookingglass Theatre Company opened its 25th Anniversary Season with Metamorphoses, based on the Myths of Ovid, written and directed by Lookingglass Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman. The return of Lookingglass' seminal production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway run, will open at Lookingglass in the fall of 2012 and will then move to Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage. Lauren Molina and Geoff Packard have brought the Goodman Theatre's acclaimed production of CANDIDE, directed and newly adapted by Mary Zimmerman, to the Huntington Theatre. Molina starred in the 2005 hit Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd and the Broadway production of ROCK OF AGES. Off-Broadway credits include, Henry, Sweet Henry (The York), Meet Me in St. Louis and Just So Stories (National Tour, Theatreworks/USA). Pianist Scott Bradlee enlisted the help of Molina, bassist Adam Kubota, and drummer Allan Mednard, put together a jazzy cover of Britney Spears' Till the World Ends. Check it out below!
