The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces principal company for its major revival of one of the world's most-beloved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof, in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. Joining the previously announced Andy Nyman (Tevye) is Judy Kuhn as Golde, with Harriet Bunton (Hodel), Dermot Canavan (Lazar Wolf), Stewart Clarke (Perchik), Matt Corner (Fyedka), Joshua Gannon (Motel), Louise Gold (Yente), Kirsty MacLaren (Chava) and Molly Osborne (Tzeitel).

International Flamenco sensation, Olga Pericet, was awarded today with the National Dance Award for 2018 in Spain. This award represents the highest recognition in dance for her versatility and projection on stage.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present Martin Casella's 'Black Tom Island' from October 11 to October 21 at the 1882 Carriage House, Liberty Hall Museum. Broadwayworld.com had the pleasure of interviewing Casella about his career and the upcoming show.

The British Museum presents a new exhibition called Witnesses: emigre medallists in Britain, sponsored by Spink. This focussed exhibition uncovers the invaluable role played by artists from abroad in the development of British medallic art. On display are medals that span six centuries, documenting significant historical moments and commemorating famous British figures. This new exhibition uses objects to tell an international story, as it explores the motivations that brought artists to Britain and the ways in which they enlivened this country's medallic landscape.

Folger Theatre follows its sold-out run of Macbeth with King John, Shakespeare's rarely performed history play chronicling King John's turbulent reign from 1199 to 1216. Directed by six-time Helen Hayes Award-winner Aaron Posner, the production features Kate Eastwood Norris (Macbeth, The Taming of the Shrew) as Philip Faulconbridge (the Bastard) and Holly Twyford (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Arcadia) as Arthur's tragic mother, Constance. Brian Dykstra, last seen on the Folger stage in Romeo and Juliet, will play the inscrutable King John.

Producers John Lant and Cornell Christianson with ICFB Productions are pleased to announce the East Coast Off-Broadway premiere of IT CAME FROM BEYOND, a 1950's sci-fi, musical comedy with book by writer / producer Cornell Christianson, music and lyrics by Stephen M. Schwartz and Norman E. Thalheimer and directed by Jim Blanchette.

Producer John Lant is pleased to announce another extension of the Off-Broadway premiere, and newest hit, WICKED FROZEN, the untold parody musical of some magic ice witch princesses (with unexpected emotional bite), as it rocks out until the end of 2018, and is set to continue through the New Year. All Original songs with book and lyrics by Zoe Farmingdale and music and lyrics by Toby Singer. The production is directed and choreographed by Zoe Farmingdale.

Robert Wagner, the handsome and debonair actor and one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, has been named to be the recipient of the Gold Coast International Film Festival's second annual Burton Moss Hollywood Golden Era Award. Regina Gil, founder and executive director of the Gold Coast Arts Center and its Gold Coast International Film Festival, announced the selection along with members of an advisory board that included such noted celebrities as Joel Grey, Larry King, Richard Thomas, Edwina Sandys, Mrs. Anthony Katherine Quinn, Tippi Hedren, Greg Mullavey, Carole Shelley, Angie Dickinson, Diane Baker, Stefanie Powers and Constance Towers Gavin.

John Lithgow will star as Roger Ailes, the Fox News chief who masterfully exploited the country's political divisions to rise to the top of the cable news heap, in an upcoming film, according to Variety. TheAnnapurna film will revolve around the sexual harassment scandal that ended Ailes career.  

On Friday 13 September 1940, a ship, The City of Benares, set sail from Liverpool for Canada. On board were 90 evacuees escaping the bombing and dangers of war torn Britain. Four days into the crossing, the ship was torpedoed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and sank. Only eleven of the evacuees survived.

Write Act Repertory's Producing Artistic Director John Lant and Anne Mesa are pleased to announce a Special Limited Engagement of the world premiere of Willard Manus' THEIR FINEST HOUR: CHURCHILL AND MURROW.  July 27 - August 5, 2018. The final production in the series, Three By Will In Rep, is directed by Stu Berg. The show returns for two weekends at Write Act Repertory @ The Brickhouse Theatre. This full-length play sheds light on the unique relationship between Winston Churchill and Edward R. Murrow during the early years of WW II when England was under attack by Hitler's Air Force. Murrow, who was covering the war for CBS Radio News, not only became friendly with Churchill, but had a passionate and adulterous love affair with the Prime Ministers daughter-in-law.

Los Altos Hills will be alive with The Sound of Music this summer, when multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning musical. This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home in pursuit of freedom. Director Milissa Carey, music director William Liberatore, and choreographers Brett and C.J. Drury Lane Theatre announces casting for its sultry summer drama, Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directed by Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime, Drury Lane's Smokey Joe's Cafe). Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs July 5 - August 26, 2018, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, July 12 at 8:00 p.m.
