A.R.T. Adds PIRATES OF PENZANCE to Season

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), in association with the Loeb Drama Center, is pleased to announce that the runaway hit of the 2012 Emerging America Festival, Pirates of Penzance, has been added to close the 2012-13 Season. Performances begin on May 10, 2013 and run through June 2, 2013.

Swords clash with fiery sparks as Artistic Directors August Viverito and T L Kolman announce the Los Angeles premiere of a new, under two-hour incarnation of Shakespeare's HENRY VI, Part I directed by Chicago phenomenon Christopher William Johnson, with stunning fight choreography by Jennifer Albert. Hundreds of years ago, English playwright Christopher Marlowe wrote the world's first theatrical version of a little German legend about a man who sells his soul to the Devil. That man was Faust, and Marlowe's version, DOCTOR FAUSTUS, will be produced by Austin's own Last Act Theatre Company from October 11th through October 27th.

Shakespeare on the Sound, a non-profit committed to producing free, professional open-air productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and offering year-round educational programming for the community is in pursuit of raising $17,500 for Anti-Bullying Program "Speaking Daggers" on crowd source funding website, Indiegogo.com. The campaign lasts only for 35 days between October 1 - November 4.
Asolo Repertory Theatre's New Stages Tour of MACBETH Embarks Today, 10/2

Asolo Repertory Theatre presents its New Stages Tour, an FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training production of MACBETH, from the play by William Shakespeare. This 60-minute adaptation includes post show discussions at each performance. Performances can be scheduled by contacting the Education & Outreach staff at Asolo Rep. Special Opening Night public performances in the Cook Theatre will be held on October 4 at 6:00 pm & 8:30 pm with a reception between performances, which is included in the ticket price.

Libra Theater Company announces its third season of programming, which will include a second season of the free In the Balance reading series, the world premiere of The Thirteenth Commandment by Joshua H. Cohen, and a new collection of songs by emerging composer/lyricist Will Reynolds (also the co-star of Love Story at Walnut Street Theatre).
