Polarity Ensemble Theatre Set for Residency at Greenhouse Theater Center

Polarity Ensemble Theatre announces its new residency at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. Polarity will kick off its residency with the Polarity Greenhouse for Growth Fundraiser Saturday, November 16, 2013, followed by an innovative production of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, adapted and directed by Polarity's Artistic Director Richard Engling, January 30 through March 2, 2013. Press night is Saturday, February 1 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for both events are currently on sale.

Retired Consul Publishes Collection of Poetry

Retired consul Martin Lahiff has published several nonfiction books including 'His Way' (1996), 'To Build a Cross' (1997), 'Two Histories' (1998), the autobiographical 'Rancho Minovi' (2001), and 'Cien Poemas' (2003). After a decade of silence, Lahiff returns to publish his book, 'The Other Side,' and his latest anthology of handpicked poems grouped into four phases of his life, titled 'IONA.'

Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by multiple Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor with original music composed by Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning Elliot Goldenthal, opened on November 2 at the Theatre's newly-named building, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street, Brooklyn. University Musical Society Announces December 2013 Events

The University Musical Society (UMS) presents two incredible events this December, starting with the beloved community tradition of Handel's Messiah (Saturday-Sunday, December 7-8). December also ushers in the first-ever high definition delayed cinema broadcast from the Royal Shakespeare Company in the Michigan Theater; the company performs Richard II, starring David Tennant and directed by Gregory Doran (Sunday, December 8 and Wednesday, December 11).

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues their family holiday tradition by presenting its production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the ultimate tale of forgiveness, opening Saturday, December 7 and closing Sunday, December 22, 2013. This is the second year that ANW has presented the timeless holiday classic, once again accompanied by a special fundraiser event, "Fezziwig's Festive Holiday Tea" on December 8, which directly supports Classics Live! - ANW's education programs. You'd be hard pressed to find a spookier, creepier play in Shakespeare's canon than 'Macbeth,' with its bloody ghost, three weird witches and murder most foul. As the famous line goes, 'By the pricking of my thumbs/Something wicked this way comes.' All of which makes Halloween the perfect time to experience the play. CU-Boulder Theatre & Dance will stage Shakespeare's darkest, most haunting tragedy Oct. 30 through Nov. 5.

Throughout the run of Russian State Ballet and Opera House's visit at the Wyvern Theatre, front of house volunteers will be encouraging patrons to donate money in support of local tap dancer Matt Pidgeon and the England tap dancing team. On Monday 4 November, The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will perform The Nutcracker; and on Tuesday 5 November, they will perform Romeo and Juliet and bucket collections will be held after each performance.
