Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway broke The Broadhurst Theatre box office record last week with a gross of $1,210,974. Previous members of the Broadhurst's million dollar club are: 700 Sundays starring Billy Crystal (week ending 5/22/05): $1.061 million; Hamlet starring Jude Law week (week ending 12/6/09): $1.000 million; The Merchant of Venice starring Al Pacino (week ending 1/2/11): $1.175 million.

Performances began last night for Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Everyone remembering the stage door frenzy at his previous two Broadway bows in A STEADY RAIN and THE BOY FROM OZ has been wondering just how crazy 44th street would become. Student tickets will be available at every performance of Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway for $31.50 three hours before show time at the Broadhurst Theatre box office only (235 West 44th Street). Tickets are available on the day of the performance and there is a limit of one ticket per valid ID (subject to availability).

PRINCE OF BROADWAY, a new musical celebrating legendary Broadway director and producer Harold 'Hal' Prince, is in development now, aiming for a Toronto production in the summer of 2012, prior to opening on Broadway that fall. The New York Post's Michael Riedel writes today that the show, which will offer $30 tickets for students, already has a 6 million dollar advance through premium tickets selling for upwards of $300 each.
