Boston Ballet proudly begins its five-year partnership with world-renowned choreographer William Forsythe with the North American company premiere of his full-length ballet Artifact. Forsythe revolutionized ballet; he "fundamentally changed the way we look at, and think about, classical dance" (Roslyn Sulcas, Dance Magazine).

Today, DeNada Dance Theatre, headed by choreographer and artistic director and Critics' Circle National Dance Awards 2015 & 2016 nominee Carlos Pons Guerra, announces its 2017 National Tour of Ham and Passion. The triple bill of dance by Pons Guerra opens at Wilton's Music Hall in London on Tuesday 21 February and concludes at Lincoln Drill Hall, Lincoln on Thursday 27 April 2017.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic direction of Glenn Edgerton, announces today, full programming for Season 39 Fall Series November 17- 20, 2016 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Highlighting the engagement, Hubbard Street Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo's 15th original work for the company, a world premiere piece by 2013 Guggenheim Fellow and inaugural Harris Theater Choreographer in Residence Brian Brooks as well as the revival of two ensemble works by Ji?i Kylian.

Boston Ballet's 53rd season begins with the North American premiere of Ivan Liška's adventure and romance-filled Le Corsaire, with music by Adolphe Adam, Leo Delibes, Cesare Pugni, Riccardo Drigo, and Prinz von Oldenburg, performed by the Boston Ballet Orchestra. The narrative follows a beautiful maiden, a wealthy aristocrat determined to add her to his harem, and a dashing pirate even more resolved to save her. Based on Marius Petipa's 19th-century classic, Liška's version of Le Corsaire was created for the Bavarian State Ballet in 2007. Liška enlisted the assistance of dance historian Doug Fullington to decipher the choreography from its original Stepanov dance notation, which is housed in Harvard University Library's Theatre Collection. Le Corsaire will run from October 27 to November 6, 2016 at the Boston Opera House.

ANAIS CHALENDARD, principal dancer of the Boston Ballet, and PATRICK YOCUM, soloist of the Boston Ballet, will be appearing as guest artists in the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's production of The Nutcracker on Friday, December 9 (Evening), Saturday, December 10 (Matinee), and Sunday, December 11 (Matinee), 2016 at the Riverview Theatre in Shreveport, Louisiana. The Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet has added a third performance for the company's annual engagement of The Nutcracker for this season.

The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, and San Francisco Ballet will collaborate for the third time to broadcast 20 hours of behind-the-scenes footage on Tuesday, October 4. For the first time, World Ballet Day LIVE will be streamed via Facebook LIVE-the longest broadcast ever to be shown on the platform.

KC Ballet Welcomes New Company Members, Artistic Staff Addition

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of six new members, Kelsey Hellebuyck, Emily Mistretta, Gustavo Ribeiro, Amaya Rodriguez, James Rogers, Kevin Wilson, and three new apprentices, Ivan Braatz, Sarah Joan Smith, and Katherine Sawicki to the Kansas City Ballet Company.
