Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues its 2014-15 Jazz series with the CYRUS CHESTNUT TRIO, featuring Cyrus Chestnut, piano, Dezron Douglas, bass, and Neal Smith, drums. The concert is set for Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 8 p.m. at the Miller Theatre at Columbia University (2960 Broadway at 116th Street).

One of the most buzzed about premieres of this fall TV season has been Fox's Batman-prequel GOTHAM. The first episode aired last night, and you can read Jeffrey Walker's recap here. Recently I participated in a conference call with GOTHAM star Ben McKenzie. McKenzie (THE O.C., SOUTHLAND) plays Detective James Gordon, who goes on to be Gotham City's legendary Commissioner Gordon. McKenzie discusses playing police officers in very different shows, the draw of comic books shows and movies, and Gordon's iconic facial hair.

MULTISTAGES has announced the new musical by award-winning Anita Velez-Mitchell, platinum-winning composers Dean Landon and Anika Paris, TEMPLE OF THE SOULS, with musical direction by Bruce Baumer and directed by Artistic Director Lorca Peress. TEMPLE OF THE SOULS will play a limited engagement at Theater for the New City - Johnson Theater (155 First Avenue, btw 9th/10th, NYC). Performances begin tonight, September 16 and continue through Sunday, September 28. Opening Night is Thursday, September 18 (8 p.m.).
Kean Human Rights Institute to Screen THE GOOD LIE, 10/8

John Prendergast, Kean University's Human Rights Senior Fellow, will present a screening of The Good Lie on October 8 at 7:15 p.m. in the state-of-the-art STEM Auditorium, located in Kean's STEM Building. The premiere will be attended by Mr. Prendergast, an internationally acclaimed human rights activist, who appears in the film and has a longstanding relationship with the University.
