Today in 2008, A Catered Affair closed at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it ran for 116 performances. A Catered Affair is a musical with a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by John Bucchino. It is based on both the 1956 film The Catered Affair written by Gore Vidal and the original 1955 teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky, set in 1953 in the Bronx. John Doyle directed the production, which starred Fierstein, Faith Prince and Tom Wopat.

Just last night, producer Jordan Roth and the cast of the 2012 Tony Award-winning, 2011 Pulitzer Prize and Olivier Award-winning play, Clybourne Park celebrated 100 performances on Broadway and the debut performance of Olivier Award nominee Sarah Goldberg in the role of "Besty / Lindsey." Earlier today, producer Jordan Roth and cast members from Clybourne Park were on hand at Serendipity 3 to sample the scrumptious Clybourne Park Neapolitan Sundae which will be available at the popular midtown restaurant throughout the month of July. Packed with a combustible mix of ingredients, the delicious sundae boasts three provocatively large scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream brilliantly drenched in white chocolate sauce and milk chocolate fudge.

Written by Ruth & Augustus Goetz, The Heiress will be directed by Tony Award® nominated playwright and director Moises Kaufman. The Heiress will be produced by Paula Wagner, Roy Furman and Stephanie P. McClelland.
Lincoln Center Theater's 4000 MILES Closes

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that it will extend the run of its critically acclaimed production of Amy Herzog's 4000 MILES, directed by Daniel Aukin, for a second time, through Sunday, July 1 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). The original run of the production was extended through Sunday, June 17 after 4000 MILES opened to critical acclaim in early April.
Nathan Lane Coming Back to Broadway in THE NANCE; Jack O'Brien to Direct

According to the New York Times, Broadway favorite Nathan Lane will be heading back to Broadway in Douglas Carter Beane's The Nance, a new play about a performer who played the role of the nance in burlesque shows in the early 20th century. Lincoln Center Theater is looking to bring the show to Broadway in spring 2013, with Jack O'Brien attached to direct.
Goodspeed Musicals Adds Audio Archive to Library

A rare collection of complete live recordings of classic American musical theater will be made available over the next four years to visitors at two major venues: Goodspeed Musicals' Scherer Library of Musical Theatre in East Haddam, Connecticut, and Cleveland Public Library in Cleveland, Ohio.

The LCT3 production of Slowgirl, a new play by Greg Pierce, directed by Anne Kauffman and featuring Željko Ivanek and Sarah Steele, makes its world premiere tonight, June 18, as the first production to be presented by LCT3 in its new home, The Claire Tow Theater, on the roof of Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Slowgirl will run for six weeks only through Sunday, July 15. All tickets are $20.
