On Monday, June 20, 2016, non for profit BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE will premiere their 6th anniversary benefit concert in New York City at the JCC Manhattan! This milestone event will be filled with singing (from pop to Broadway), stories, special celebrity guests and more! The show will honor the Tyler Clementi Foundation and AIDS pioneer and activist Ruth Coker Burks.  Broadway Sings for Pride, is a multiple award-wining is a non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists and celebrities to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ youth, and support these young people so that they may reach their full potential.

Kicking off Hit Makers is Tommy James of Tommy James and The Shondells on Monday, May 16 at 7:30pm at The Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street.

The School of Visual Arts (SVA), celebrates its 27th Dusty Awards on May 10 at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street)-beginning with a red carpet event from 5:30-6:30pm and culminating with a private awards ceremony, which begins at 6:30pm.?

More than 400 guests joined Olympians and stars of stage and screen to show their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students at the annual Point Honors gala the landmark New York Public Library last night. The evening celebrated the accomplishments of Point Foundation's (Point), higher education scholarship recipients. More than $500,000 was raised for Point, the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

Tony Award-winner Joanna Gleason and actor/director Austin Pendleton will join ON MADELINE KAHN, a panel on the life and career of Madeline Kahn (1942-99), the Oscar-nominated, Emmy and Tony-winning actress, on Tuesday, April 5, at 7pm at New York City's 92nd Street Y.

The cast celebrated the milestone with a post-performance party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant, featuring the unveiling of a portrait featuring stars John Owen-Jones (Valjean) and Hayden Tee (Javert) by artist Dan May for the restaurant's Broadway Wall of Fame.  The party was hosted by Bruce Dimpflmaier and Tony's di Napoli and emceed by Valerie Smaldone. New York City's 92nd Street Y will present "On Madeline Kahn," a panel on the life & career of MADELINE KAHN (1942-99), the Oscar-nominated, Emmy & Tony-winning actress, on Tuesday, April 5, at 7pm. Star of such hit films as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Paper Moon & Clue & Broadway shows On the Twentieth Century, The Sisters Rosensweig & Two by Two, Kahn is the subject of WILLIAM V. MADISON'S biography, MADELINE KAHN: Being the Music • A Life (University Press of Mississippi). The event will be moderated by frequent 92nd Street Y host & 5-time Billboard Award-winner VALERIE SMALDONE.

Tony Award winner Christian Borle, and Tony Award nominees Brian d'Arcy James and John Cariani were honored last night with the unveiling of a signature Dan May portrait and party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant in Times Square, hosted by Valerie Smaldone and Bruce Dimpflmaier, commemorating their roles as Shakespeare and the Bottom Brothers in the smash hit musical Something Rotten! Broadway Sings for Pride will roar into their 5th year and celebrate New York City LGBT Pride with 'Roar', their fifth annual benefit concert, benefiting the Tyler Clementi Foundation. The one-night benefit, will feature songs that embody gay perseverance, marked by an array of musical performers from the world of Broadway, pop and beyond. The night will feature two special musical reunions from the companies of RENT and A Chorus Line.

Broadway favorite Frenchie Davis (American Idol, The Voice, Broadway's RENT) will make her Broadway Sings for Pride debut in 'ROAR' which will celebrate NYC Gay Pride. Frenchie known for her powerful voice will be apart of group numbers and a solo piece during the event. Frenchie appeared on American Idol's second season where she showcased her soulful voice. She made her Broadway debut in RENT as the 'Seasons of Love' soloist in the Tony-award winning show RENT. She was also seen in the starring role of Effie in a West Coast-touring production of Dreamgirls, which appeared in Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle. Davis also made it to the top 8 of The Voice as a member of Christina Aguilera's team.

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held just yesterday in Shubert Alley, hosted by Darren Criss who is currently playing Hedwig in the 2014 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a 12-piece live orchestra, including many of this year's 2015 Tony Award - nominated plays and musicals! School of Visual Arts (SVA) proudly announced the winners of its 2015 Dusty Film & Animation Festival and Awards, now in its 26th year, at the Dusty Awards held May 12, 2015 at New York City's SVA Theatre (333 W. 23rd Street). Highlighting the work of more than 100 filmmakers and animators graduating from the BFA Film & Video and BFA Animation departments, the annual awards were bestowed at this event.
