Syesha Mercado Joins THE BOOK OF MORMON as 'Nabulungi' in Chicago

According to the Chicago Tribune, American Idol finalist Syesha Mercado has joined the cast of The Book of Mormon in Chicago and will be playing the featured role of 'Nabulungi'. Stephanie Umoh previously played the role. No details have been released on why she left.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a day-of-show drawing for the Second National Tour, which launches in Chicago on December 11, 2012 at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe). In Chicago, the production will conduct a pre-show drawing at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 each. Performances are sold out December 11, 2012 - March 3, 2013. Tickets are still available for performances March 5 - June 2, 2013.

mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, today announced its 2012 Man and Woman of the Year: singer/songwriter Frank Ocean and Pakistani social activist Malala Yousafzai, two Millennials bravely challenging the status quo in their respective communities. Deeply honest and unafraid to break boundaries, Frank Ocean's distinctive sound was heralded as the future of R&B this year, and he became a hero to many when he published a letter on Tumblr detailing his first love -- another man. mtvU's "Woman of the Year" is a very different, and incredibly brave, young person. In her dedicated quest to achieve equal educational rights for women, the 15 year-old Pakistani social activist Malala Yousafzai is a powerful symbol of strength and courage who, despite being attacked by the Taliban, continues to fight for equality. Beginning Thursday, December 6, MTV's college network will profile the "Man and Woman of the Year" to millions of young people on college campuses around the country on-air and online.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has announced a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at The Paramount Theatre in Seattle and plays a limited two week engagement through Sunday, January 20. In Seattle, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making 20 tickets available at $25 apiece.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Broadway favorite Matt Doyle will join the cast of Broadway's the Book of Mormon as 'Elder Price.' Doyle replaces Nic Rouleau, who on December 11 will leave to star in the second national tour, launching in Chicago.
