The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Joey Parnes, Interim Executive Director), Producer Mark Russell, and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP President and CEO Mario Garcia Durham) announced the exciting line-up today for the eighth annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 4-15, 2012 at The Public Theater as well as at partner venues around the city.

As part of the Under The Radar Festival 2012, Japan Society proudly brings back the internationally acclaimed chelfitsch Theater Company to New York in the NY premiere of Hot Pepper, Air Conditioner, and the Farewell Speech. Written and directed by Toshiki Okada, this production plays Thursday, January 5 - Saturday, January 14 at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street).

As part of the Under The Radar Festival 2012, Japan Society will present THE BEE, directed and co-written by celebrated director/playwright Hideki Noda. This production, co-produced with the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, London's Soho Theatre and NODA?MAP, runs Thursday, January 5 - Sunday, January 15 at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street).

INVASION! -- Jonas Hassen Khemiri's Obie Award-winning play that enjoyed considerable critical and popular success during its U.S. premiere by The Play Company last winter -- will have a return engagement Off-Broadway this fall, again presented by The Play Company, opening on September 13 at The Flea Theater (41 White Street) in Manhattan, where PlayCo will be based for the 2011-12 season, it has been announced by Kate Loewald, Founding Producer, and Lauren Weigel, Executive Producer of The Play Company.
