The Play Company's Idea Lab, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut New York and the German Consulate New York, is proud to present a public event featuring internationally acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig, in conjunction with our New York premiere production of his play THE GOLDEN DRAGON. Mr. Schimmelpfennig will discuss his award-winning play THE GOLDEN DRAGON, his larger body of work, and trends in German theatre on Sunday, May 12 @4:15pm -- immediately following the 3pm matinee performance of THE GOLDEN GRAGON at The New Ohio Theatre, 154 Christopher Street. This open conversation will be moderated by Dr. Frank Hentschker, Executive Director of the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center.

The New York premiere of THE GOLDEN DRAGON, presented by the OBIE Award-winning The Play Company (WORKING ON A SPECIAL DAY, INVASION!), is written by acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig and translated by David Tushingham. CABARET GOURMET -- the Obie Award-winning Play Company's annual benefit that combines gourmet foods from top NYC restaurants with an evening of first-rate entertainment -- will be presented this year tonight, April 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the American Airlines Theater Penthouse (227 W. 42 St.) with the Tony Award-nominated actor Daniel Breaker (PASSING STRANGE) featured as the event's host and performer.

Mee, Witness Relocation will apply its unique, pop-culture dance/theater style to a play that crams all of human history into one day, reflecting on the pain of life and the perennial elation of falling in love. La Mama E.T.C. will present the work's world premiere tonight, April 4 to 21 in its Ellen Stewart Theater, directed and choreographed by Dan Safer.

Now in its ninth year, this acclaimed downtown festival committed to tracking new theater from across the U.S. and around the world will run for 12 days through January 20 at The Public Theater at Astor Place. Excluding Life and Times, all single tickets to UTR shows are $20; Member tickets are $15.
