SEMINAR to Close on Broadway May 6

SEMINAR, the acclaimed comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, The Understudy, Omnium Gatherum, "NYPD Blue," NBC's hit series "Smash") and directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, The Big Meal, Look Back in Anger), will play its final Broadway performance in this Sunday's matinee, May 6. The World Premiere production opened on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and will have played a total of 191 performances and 26 previews at The Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

The Ensemble Studio Theatre will honor two of its most distinguished members, the acclaimed actress Lois Smith and two-time Board chair G.H. 'Denny' Denniston, Jr with its 2012 Distinguished Member Award at a "Fun-Raiser" benefit celebration Monday evening, May 14, at 6:45pm at SIR Stage 37, 508 West 37th Street. Tickets are $350. James William Productions and Stephenie Skyllas will present Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory in 'When Everything Was Possible, A Concert (with comments),' for one night only, Sunday April 29th (7:30pm) at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues), as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. They will be joined by a thirteen-piece band (Michael Rafter, Music Director), playing new orchestrations by Tony Award winner Jonathan Tunick. Larry Moss directs, with musical staging by Joshua Bergasse ("Smash"). Carolyn Wong will provide lighting design, with sound design by Leon Rothenberg and projection design by Telegraphicmedia.

Chris Sullivan made his 2010 Broadway debut as Jim Taylor in Lombardi and he just finished a run as Amos Hart in Chicago the Musical. Sullivan's regional credits include The Ballad of Emmett Till, The Hairy Ape, The Mystery of Irma Vep and Tony Kushner's The Illusion (Chicago). Defending the Caveman (Nat. Tour). He is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Sully is also a photographer and a singer/songwriter. None of this is possible without the support of his family and 'Sweetie.'

The Tisch School of the Arts at New York University announced today a distinguished list of alumni will attend their annual gala, Ordinary Miraculous: Celebrating Vision, on April 19th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Those scheduled to participate so far include Martin Scorsese and Alec Baldwin. For the past two decades, Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell has served as a pioneer in arts education.
