Three Sisters After Chekhov opens July 9 @ The Lost Studio in Hollywood. Its director Gregg T. Daniel has a diversified and well-known career as director/actor of stage and television/film actor. His stage direction includes 2009's critically-acclaimed production of Tom Stoppard's Heroes at the Group rep and Sybyl Walker's Beneath Rippling Waters presented by the Company of Angels @ the Fremont Center in Pasadena in 2006. As actor, he currently has a recurring role as Reverend Daniels in HBO's True Blood.

Jitters is a comedic play that examines the state of Canadian culture and the lives of its frontline practitioners. The Antaeus Company, Los Angeles's classical theater ensemble, will open ClassicsFest 2010 with King Lear, its first full production of a Shakespeare play. Bart DeLorenzo will direct King Lear with renowned scholar, actor, and Antaeus founding artistic director Dakin Matthews and Broadway veteran/three-time Tony nominee Harry Groener heading two fully double-cast ensembles.

Main Street Theater has extended its run of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia through June 20 at Main Street Theater - Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd. (There is no performance on June 11.) Performances are on Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm.

The Wilma Theater concludes its 2009 - 2010 Season with the U.S. Premiere of Leaving, by Václav Havel. The Court Theatre presents THE SEAGULL, opening Saturday, May 15 and running thru Saturday, June 12. Written by Anton Chekhov, THE SEAGULL follows a successful actress on holiday at her brother's country estate with her son, an aspiring writer, lover and her friends. Chekhov follows their lives as passions and dreams entwine in a world of beauty, cruelty and humanity.
