This weekend, WABC-7 airs a half-hour special covering highlights of the spring season on Broadway, including ANNIE, THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES, I'LL EAT YOU LAST, JERSEY BOYS, LUCKY GUY, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, PIPPIN, and more. "Broadway Backstage: Spring Preview" airs tomorrow, Saturday, May 18 from 7:00-7:30PM.

Several Broadway actors have expanded their talents by creating their own production companies. Sebastian La Cause is one of those with an award-winning web series under his belt.

When he assumes his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, Ben Affleck will join SNL's exclusive '5-Timer's Club.' To mark the occasion, VH1 will air his first four appearences on the legendary comedy show beginning Saturday May 18th at 2:00 PM ET/PT.* Later that evening, Affleck will take his place alongside fellow 5-timers like Justin Timberlake, Tom Hanks, and Alec Baldwin.

A special industry 'by-invitation-only' staged reading of the new Broadway-bound play COFFEE STAINS will be presented on May 20th at the award-winning Colony Theatre in Burbank, Calif. The reading will be directed by acclaimed Ovation Award winning director Jenny Sullivan (The Geffen, Pasadena Playhouse, Laguna Playhouse, Williamstown, Lucille Lortell, The Rubicon, Ensemble Theater of Santa Barbara, The Falcon).

Five months…  FIVE MONTHS after their previous musical comedy, Jumbo, opened at the Hippodrome, the trio of Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart and George Abbott had a brand new one at the Imperial.  But far from seeming a rush job, their 1936 On Your Toes can easily be argued to be a huge step forward in refining musical comedy into a sophisticated art form.

LUCKY GUY star and Tony nominee, Tom Hanks will appear on "CBS Sunday Morning," on Sunday, May 12. Hanks recently sat down with correspondent Rita Braver to speak about making his Broadway debut in Nora Ephron's final work and being named a Tony nominee. The HBO special features long-awaited performances, commemorative tributes and moving speeches from both presenters and inductees.

The 58th Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). The Awards show is written by Bill Rosenfield and directed by Jack Cummings III (co-founder and artistic director of Transport Group).
