Actors' Gang company members April Fitzsimmons (The Trial of the Catonsville Nine, Our Town) and Daisuke Tsuji (Love's Labours Lost, 1984) bring their acclaimed solo works to the Ivy Substation company home, kicking off a new performance series with two remarkable journeys.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Aftermath, written by Jessica Blank & Erik Jensen, and directed by Ms. Blank, will begin performances Tuesday, September 1, at 7pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00pm. The production will run through Sunday, October 4.

The Actors Gang Brings Cymbeline the Puppet King To Summer In The Park 7/25-8/30

The Actors' Gang is back with yet another unlikely Shakespearean romp for families. The Gang's Fourth Annual Summer-in-the-Park production transforms the bard's complex Cymbeline into the hilarious, kid-friendly Cymbeline the Puppet King. Performances take place outdoors in Culver City's Media Park (adjacent to the Ivy Substation) every Saturday and Sunday morning from July 25 through August 30 at 11 am, and admission is FREE.

The finalists for 2009 HUMANITAS Prize were announced August 17 by John Wells, HUMANITAS Prize President. A total of $95,000 in prize money will be handed out at the annual luncheon on September 17th in the Crystal Ballroom at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The arrival of a stranger with a secret unhinges the life they knew, and the vestiges of civil behavior crumble. The play re-examines how our culture sees and instills gender, identity, and family...even in a future world where these strictures have eroded.

Previews Of RANTOUL AND DIE Begin 5/14 At The Lillian Theatre

Producers Stephen Eich and Don Foster announced casting today for the world premiere of Mark Roberts? Rantoul and Die, A Romantic Comedy Wrapped in Razor Wire at The Lillian Theater (1076 Lillian Way) in Hollywood. The new play stars Paul Dillon (originated the title role in Tracy Letts? Killer Joe) as Gary, Cynthia Ettinger (Actors? Gang?s I am not a racist, but . . .) as Debbie, Rich Hutchman (Buzzworks Theatre Company?s Invasion of the Minnesota Normals) as Rallis and Lisa Rothschiller (Chicago?s Defiant Theatre Company?s Action Movie: The Play) as Callie. Two-time Tony award-nominee Erin Quigley (costume designs for The Grapes of Wrath and The Songs of Jacob Zulu) is set to direct. Preview performances begin May 14, 2009.
