NCM Fathom Events and Omniverse Vision bring one of the world's favorite shows, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond to movie theaters nationwide in a special sing-along event. The pre-recorded version of this fully staged production, originally shot at London's famous Pinewood Studios and specially remastered for this in-theater event, will be broadcast to select theaters on Monday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CT / 6:00 p.m. MT / 8:00 p.m. PT/HI/AK (tape delayed); and again on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. (all time zones). Presented in an exclusive never-before-seen sing-along version with subtitles for audiences to join in, this event also features an introduction and question-and-answer session with Osmond live from Salt Lake City, plus an animated opening sequence which features an 80-piece orchestra.

After years of development, Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale is set to premiere in suburban Atlanta at Aurora Theatre on March 15, 2012. Aurora Theatre first encountered the show in 2009 at the prestigious New York Musical Theatre Festival, the annual showcase of potential Broadway hits, like the TonyTM Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Next to Normal. Clyde ‘n Bonnie is the musical brainchild of Broadway stars Hunter Foster and Rick Crom, and so has attracted world-class talent throughout its development.

Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to Broadway San Jose. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes and dazzling production numbers including 'Be Our Guest' and the beloved title song,'Beauty and the Beast,' sung on this tour by Julia Louise Hosack who plays Mrs. Potts.

Journey to a world of witches, wizards and munchkins in the Yardley Players' production of the musical, "The Wizard of Oz" at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times for this enduring classic are: Fridays, March 23 and March 30 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, March 24 and March 31 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays, March 25 and April 1 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 23. (Note: Earlier start time for family audiences.)

A Song Cycle for Soho, running at Soho Theatre from 27 February until 3 March, is a musical song cycle that explores Soho's rich history.

The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences presents JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, written by the musical duo Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, running February 22 through May 12 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL, with a press performance on Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m. Matt Raftery will direct and choreograph this must-see production for the whole family, with musical direction by Ryan T. The Arvada Center will open the regional premiere of a new restaging of Chess, A Musical directed by Rod A. Lansberry on March 27 running through April 15, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, Wednesday at 1pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preview performances are March 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, April 6 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, April 11 after 1:00 p.m. show. Ticket prices range from $35 (previews) - $72. Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, will arrive in movie theatres on February 28, and according to Andrew Lloyd Webber, all hope might not be lost for bringing the new musical to Broadway. He told Reuters: 'I think it will inevitably come, at some point. But in many ways I now feel like I've closed the chapter on it. The film that's being shown is something I'm very, very proud of. So in a way it doesn't really matter if it comes tomorrow or five years' time. But I'm sure it will.'

Anyone who knows me knows of my love for Howard Ashman. I consider the time he, Alan Menken and Tim Rice worked on Disney movies to be the Golden Age of Disney Musicals with "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin". Unfortunately, try as they may, Disney's attempts at making stage musicals out of "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin" have been less than stellar. Thank God we have the gem that is "Beauty and the Beast" to keep Howard's legacy alive. And while over the years the stage version has been toned down for touring, the majority of the magic is still there and they even managed a few surprises for me in the current production at the Paramount Theatre.
