Theatre Three will celebrate Valentine's Day at I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change with a special offer for patrons attending the show this weekend (Today, February 9, through Sunday, February 12). WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz, and Managing Director Greg Patterson today announced details of the 2017 Summer Performing Arts Conservatory.  In past years, the Conservatory for children and teens, held at the Addison Theatre Centre, was structured for students to present a fully-realized performance of a published play or musical at the end of the two-week program.  In the new restructured two-week Conservatory, students will be cultivating their skills in three intensive courses, each led by a different professional theatre artist. This training will offer a more well-rounded experience, and will provide the students with a strong artistic foundation that can be used in the classroom or on the professional stage. The students will also gain valuable interpersonal communication skills that will benefit their day-to-day lives. The Conservatory will culminate in a performance showcase for friends and family focused on utilizing the skills and crafts learned over the two-week program.

The concert will take place on Today, January 24, 2017, at 7:30 PM on Theatre Three's Norma Young Arena Stage. Tickets are free, but a cash donation is suggested. All donations will go directly to Derek Whitener and his family to pay for medical expenses and loss of income. Denise Lee Onstage (DLO) in conjunction with Fair Park Dallas is proud to announce the third season lineup for the cabaret series at the Women's Building and Dallas' 2nd Annual Cabaret Festival. The series, entitled "Life Is a Cabaret," officially launches January 24, 2017, with its first show "Together We Can - Love is the Key" featuring Denise Lee and nationally renowned recording artist and long-time Dallas favorite, Gary Lynn Floyd. Floyd also serves as music director.

A fresh and exciting 2008 Tony Award winner from singer-songwriter and performance artist Stew, Passing Strange embarks on a journey across boundaries of place, identity and theatrical convention. The musical tells the story of a young bohemian who charts a course for 'the real' through sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Infectious, exhilarating, deeply spiritual and emotional, audiences will never forget Passing Strange!

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces casting for the final two shows of its 2016-2017 season, including the U.S. Premiere of Beyond Caring, written and directed by Alexander Zeldin in association with Dark Harbor Stories, a company led by Ensemble Member David Schwimmer and Tom Hodges, as well as the remount of the Jeff Award-winning Moby Dick, adapted from the novel by Herman Melville and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin.

The kaleidoscopic array of characters they meet along the way threatens their quest for happiness on the silver screen. Ms. Henley has created a modern day Odyssey where nothing and no one is exactly as they seem. Written with a glorious ear for dialogue and style to burn, Laugh is a truly compelling and fascinating fable.

By all accounts, 2016 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Fortunately for DFW audiences, the local theatre community and many of the touring productions delivered nothing short of a stellar year, setting quite a high bar for upcoming performances. As we say goodbye to another December, we'd like to look back on a handful of memories that stood out among the long list of Playbills we've gathered. And like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, these live theatre moments will be remembered as a few of our favorite things. We present this list in no particular order, and without awards or titles bestowed upon those listed. To everyone who contributed to the DFW theatre community in 2016, we thank you for sharing your time and talents with us.
