TCG Launches Free Night of Theatre in NYC, Tix Available 9/29

Theater Communications Group (TCG) is thrilled to announce the third annual Free Night of Theater New York City, which will take place at nearly 100 participating Off-Broadway, Off Off Broadway and Independent Theaters in all five boroughs during the entire month of October 2010.

Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Offers Closed-Captioning for 2010/2011 Season

The Theatre Development Fund (TDF) will continue its partnership with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center to deliver world-class performing arts experiences to people who are deaf or impacted by hearing loss. During the upcoming 2010/11 Season, the Center will continue to provide open captioning services in partnership with TDF's National Open Captioning Initiative.

Theatre Development Fund Receives Grant from TSC

Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the not-for-profit performing arts service organization, has been named as one of 15 organizations to receive grants from the New York City Theater Subdistrict Council (TSC). TDF will receive $200,000 to continue its 'New Audiences for New York' program, which was launched last year with a $150,000 grant from the TSC. The mission of 'New Audiences for New York' is to build new audiences for Broadway among diverse and underrepresented New Yorkers across the city.

Seen on Nickelodeon and Noggin and led by Danny Lapidus and Francisco Cotto, the band's mix of everything from Puerto Rican folk to American blues will get everyone dancing.

Rehearsals are now underway for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere of Edward Albee's ME, MYSELF & I, a new play by the three-time Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner (A Delicate Balance; Seascape; Three Tall Women; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?). The production opens the theater company's 40th Anniversary Season, in which Mr. Albee will be making his Playwrights Horizons debut. The play is Mr. Albee's 30th.

The Broadway League and The Times Square Alliance announced today that the 19th Annual Broadway on Broadway® free outdoor concert, presented by HUE Leggings and Continental Airlines and proudly sponsored by AT&T and The New York Times, will take place on Sunday, September 12th at 11:30am in Times Square (entrance on 43rd Street and Broadway).
