National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 2017-18 grant recipients, including the 2017 Smith Prize for Political Theatre, seven Producer Residencies, and five Collaboration Fund awards that will support partnerships between multiple Member Theaters, playwrights, and other theater makers in various projects.

The Broadway League has released end-of-season statistics for the 2016 - 2017 season, which began week ending May 29, 2016 and ended May 21, 2017. For the 2016 - 2017 season, total attendance reached 13,270,343 and Broadway shows yielded $1,449,321,564.64 in grosses, making it the highest grossing season in Broadway recorded history and second-best attended season on record. All new and continuing productions ran a total of 1,580 playing weeks.

Over 400 guests including current and past New York City high school students and the performing arts professional mentors who have participated in TDF's award-winning Open Doors, the theatre arts mentoring program that TDF founded in 1998 with playwright Wendy Wasserstein, will attend this year's graduation at 5:30pm on Monday, June 5 at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street, NYC).
KIDS NIGHT ON BROADWAY Comes to AT&T Performing Arts Center

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center today announced that it will participate in "Kids' Night On Broadway," a program of The Broadway League. The "buy one, get one" deal lets a child (18 years old and younger) see a Broadway show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. The ongoing program will begin with Finding Neverland on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. and is presented by Central Market.
