The Detroit News reports that Maxine Powell, the mentor behind the success of some of Motown Records' biggests stars for almost five decades, died Monday, October 14th at age 98.

Described by the Huffington Post as "a songwriter's dream," Wilson will perform songs from her critically acclaimed debut album, "AM/FM" - a collection of classics from the '60s and '70s. The Show Goes On Productions presents To Carry On… a Tribute to the Life and Music of Laura Nyro written and performed by Mimi Cohen. Gretchen Cryer directs and Jeffrey Klitz music directs. Director Lawrence Thelen proves himself up to the challenge, however, with the casting of terrific nonEquity actress Sheniqua Denise Trotman from Huntsville, AL. Her 'I'm Not Going' puts focus on the emotional pain felt by the character and is a powerhouse exploration of the lyrics. In between all that belting. Kudos.
